Contrapared off the side wall
Hitting the ball into your own side glass so it rebounds across and over the net. A last resort when the ball has got past you near the side.

Aim into your side glass at an angle towards the net. Give it enough height to clear the net after the rebound. Recover quickly: the reply is usually weak.

Choosing it when a lob was possible. Hitting the side mesh instead of the glass, which loses the point.

Legal under Rule 14b, which allows your shot to hit your own wall before bouncing in their court. If it touches your own mesh or floor after the hit, you lose the point (Rule 13l).
