Forehand back-wall return
Playing a ball on your forehand after it has come off your own back glass. It is the forehand version of the salida de pared, and usually the first wall shot players learn.
When to play it
On deep balls to your forehand side that you cannot take before the glass. When a lob passes you and rebounds on your forehand.
How to play it
Turn side on to the glass early, with your racket already back. Move out with the ball as it leaves the wall and let it drop to hip height. Hit through it beside you, low cross-court or high as a lob.
Common mistakes
Standing too close to the glass, so the ball jams you. Swinging as the ball leaves the wall instead of waiting for it to drop.

Legal under Rule 12: once the ball has bounced on your side it stays in play off your walls, and you return it before the second bounce.
