Star point
Option 2 in the 2026 FIP rules and the scoring the professional tours use: at deuce, two rounds of advantage are played, and if the game reaches deuce a third time, one deciding point, the star point, settles it.
Hvad der ændrer sig i forhold til en standardkamp
None: this is option 2 of the FIP scoring rules. Compared with advantage scoring, a game can last at most three deuces. On the star point only, the receiving pair picks the side that receives.
Reglerne
Points go 15, 30, 40 and game, as usual. If both pairs have won three points, the score is deuce 1. The pair that wins the next point has advantage 1. If they win the following point, they win the game. If they lose it, the score is deuce 2. The pair that wins the next point has advantage 2. If they win the following point, they win the game. If they lose it, the score is deuce 3 and a single deciding point, the star point, is played. For the star point, the receiving pair chooses whether the serve goes to the right or the left side, and its players cannot change positions to receive it. In mixed doubles, the player receiving the star point must be the same sex as the server. The pair that wins the star point wins the game.
Sådan afvikler du det
Announce star point scoring in advance. Brief players on the calls; numbered deuces avoid arguments. On the star point, ask the receiving pair which side will receive before the server serves.
