Rally & Roam

A broken racket, shoe or piece of clothing

If your racket, shoes or clothing fail unexpectedly, you get a reasonable amount of extra time to replace them. Broken kit is not on the list of reasons to replay a point.

Time to sort it out

Once a match starts, play is continuous. The exception is kit that fails unexpectedly: if a player's clothing, shoes or equipment has to be replaced, extra time within reason is allowed.

During a point

The let situations cover a ball that splits, something coming onto the court and interruptions that have nothing to do with the players. Your own kit is not among them, so the point is decided as it is played. If your wrist cord breaks or you drop your racket, your pair loses the point straight away.

The replacement

A spare racket must meet the same rules: no longer than 45.5 cm, with a wrist cord that you wear around your wrist. Shoes and clothing must still be proper sports kit.

What happens if your racket breaks during a padel point?

Broken kit is not one of the reasons to replay a point, so the point stands as played. Afterwards you get reasonable extra time to change rackets.
