Bad light and lights going out
If play stops for lack of light, it should stop after an even number of games in the set, so both pairs are on the same ends when play resumes. The match restarts exactly where it stopped.
Stop on an even game
When play has to be suspended because the light is going, the FIP asks for it to stop after an even number of games in the current set. That way each pair is back at the same end when the match resumes.
Pick up where you left off
The restart is exact: the same game, the same score, the same server, the same positions on court and the same order of serving and receiving.
Warm-up before you start again
Up to 5 minutes off means no warm-up. From 5 to 20 minutes you get one minute, and after more than 20 minutes you get three.
Floodlights
Court lighting should be even and placed so that nobody is dazzled. If the lights fail in the middle of a point, the point is replayed, because it is an unexpected interruption that has nothing to do with the players.
