Rule 12: ball in play

The pairs hit the ball in turn from a valid serve until a let or the end of the point. Once the ball has bounced in your half it stays in play off the walls, mesh, net and posts, and you must return it before a second bounce.

Clausola 1: Pairs hit in turn

Each pair hits the ball in turn.

Clausola 2: When the ball is live

The ball is in play from the moment a valid serve is made.

Clausola 3: When it stops

The ball stays in play until a let is called or the point is decided.

Clausola 4: Live after the bounce

If the ball hits any part of the court after bouncing in the opponents' half, it stays in play.

Clausola 5: Return before the second bounce

The ball must be returned before it bounces on the ground a second time. What it touches between the two bounces does not matter, as long as it is part of the court.

Clausola 6: What counts as the court

The parts of the court are the inside faces of the walls, the metal mesh fence that encloses the court, the ground, the net and the net posts. The ceiling, lights and other objects are not on the list.

Clausola 7: Mesh and frame together

The whole of the mesh and its frame count as part of the fence. So a ball that hits a frame after bouncing is treated the same as one that hits the mesh.
