Sign in with a passkey

A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, face or screen lock instead of a password. It stays on your device; we only keep a public key, so there is nothing for anyone to steal from us.

Add a passkey

1. Open Settings, Security on the phone or computer you want to use. 2. Under Passkeys, choose Add a passkey. 3. Give it a name, so you can tell your passkeys apart later. 4. Follow your device's prompt to confirm with your fingerprint, face or screen lock.

Add one on each phone or computer you use. If you see This browser cannot create passkeys, try a recent version of Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

Sign in

1. Open Sign in. 2. Choose Sign in with a passkey. 3. Pick your passkey and confirm on your device.

You do not type your email, and there is no extra code step, because a passkey already proves both the device and the person unlocking it.

Remove a passkey

In Settings, Security, choose Remove next to the passkey. It will no longer sign you in. Do this if you lose or sell a device.

If a passkey is not recognised

If you see We do not recognise that passkey, it may have been removed from your account. Sign in with your email and password instead, then add a new passkey.

You can still sign in with your email and password at any time. See keep your account secure.
