Women's doubles
Women's doubles is standard doubles with women on court. The FIP rules are the same for every category: the same court, ball, serve, walls and scoring.
Ce qui change par rapport à un match classique
No change to the rules of play. Only women may enter, under the competition's eligibility rules. Rankings are often kept separately: the LTA, for example, keeps men's and women's ranking lists for each tournament circuit.
Les règles
All the rules of standard doubles apply without change. The serve, faults, lets, walls, mesh and out-of-court play work exactly as in any other category. The deuce format and match length are the ones the organiser announces for the event. Time limits, coaching rules and the code of conduct are the same. Eligibility is set by the competition. On the FIP Promises junior tour, for example, eligibility is governed by a separate FIP Gender Participation Policy.
Comment l'organiser
Publish the eligibility rules with the entry details, so players know who may enter the women's doubles draw. Run the draw and the matches exactly as for any other doubles event. Announce the deuce format and the match length before the first round. If the event also has men's or mixed draws, keep entries and rankings separate.
