Deep serve
A serve that bounces close to the service line, so the receiver has to play it off the back glass or from deep in the court.

Against receivers who like to step in and attack the return. As your stock serve once you can land it consistently.
Comment le jouer
Aim for a target a metre short of the service line, which leaves room for error. Hit slightly through the ball rather than up at it. Move forward straight after the serve to take the net.

Landing beyond the service line, which is a fault. Hitting so hard that the ball comes off the back glass high and easy.

Legal under Rule 6. The service line counts as part of the box, so a ball on the line is good, but one landing beyond it is a fault under Rule 7.1c.
