Team matches between clubs and countries
In team competitions, such as club leagues or national team championships, a tie is made up of several doubles matches. The team that wins most of them wins the tie.
Mikä muuttuu tavalliseen otteluun verrattuna
The result is the team's, not just the pair's. Coaching from an accredited coach is allowed during rest times, which the FIP rules limit to team and double-pair competitions. Captains choose who plays, which adds tactics before a ball is hit.
Säännöt
Each team names its pairs for the tie under the competition rules. Each match is a normal doubles match under the FIP rules and the event's scoring. The team that wins most matches wins the tie, unless the event uses another count. If a tie can end level, the event's rule decides it, such as sets or games won, or a deciding match tie-break. An accredited coach may give advice in team events, but only during rest times, under the FIP conduct rules. Ties feed a league table, a knockout or both, as the competition sets out.
Näin järjestät sen
Publish the competition rules: squad size, line-up deadline, scoring and how a tie is won. Collect line-ups before the tie. Start the matches together if courts allow, so the tie finishes on time. Record each match and the tie result, then update the table or draw.
