Wrist

Wrist pain in padel often comes from flicking at the ball, especially on volleys and overheads, or from a sudden increase in how much you play.

Why it happens

The wrist takes over when the shoulder and body do too little: a flicked volley, a bandeja hit with the wrist instead of the arm, a grip that is the wrong size, or a week of daily padel.

What helps

Keep the wrist firm on volleys and let the body give the pace. Turn the shoulders on overheads instead of flicking. Ask a coach or a shop to check your grip size. Build up playing time gradually.

The routine

Wrist circles in both directions Slow wrist lowering with a light weight, palm down, fifteen reps Slow wrist lowering, palm up, fifteen reps Forearm stretch, palm down then palm up

When to see a physio

See a physiotherapist or doctor if the pain lasts more than two weeks, if the wrist is swollen or clicks painfully, or after a fall onto your hand.
