Wide serve
A serve aimed at the outside of the box, so it bounces close to the side wall and runs into the side glass, pulling the receiver wide.
When to play it
When the receiver stands in the middle of the box and is comfortable on their forehand or backhand there. To open the middle of the court for your partner at the net.
How to play it
Stand a little closer to the centre line to make the angle. Aim for a bounce about half a metre from the side wall, near the service line. Keep the swing the same as your usual serve so the direction is hard to read.
Common mistakes
Aiming so close to the wall that the serve hits the side glass before it bounces, which is a fault. Serving wide and not covering the line: the receiver can go straight down it.

Questions
Is the wide serve legal in padel?
Legal like any serve under Rule 6, as long as it lands in the box first. If it hits the side glass before it bounces, it has not landed in the box and is a fault under Rule 7.1c.
