Towards the back corner

A deep ball into the corner where the opponents' back and side glass meet, so the rebound comes out at an awkward angle.

When to play it

When an opponent is deep and slow to turn. From a lob or a bandeja, to keep the defenders pinned back. Against players who struggle with two-wall rebounds.

How to play it

Aim to bounce a couple of metres in front of the back glass, near the side. Lob, bandeja or drive can all reach it: depth matters more than pace. Follow it towards the net while they deal with the rebound.

Common mistakes

Going too wide, so the ball hits the side glass before the bounce, which loses the point. Landing it short, so the rebound sits up in the middle.

Questions

Legal under Rule 14 if it bounces first and then hits the glass. Under Rule 13 the point is lost if it hits their glass before the bounce.
