Slow and low
A soft ball that stays low and lands near the net, so the opponents have to lift it.
When to play it
Against a net pair waiting for pace. When you need time to move forward. On a return against a server who rushes in.
How to play it
Take pace off with a shorter swing and an open face. Aim just over the net so it lands close. Follow it forward with your partner.
Common mistakes
Floating it too high, which gives them a volley to put away. Leaving it in the middle of their service box, where it sits up.
