Sitting recovery
A description of an improvised moment, not a technique: a player who has slipped or fallen plays the ball from the floor.
When to play it
It happens after a slip, a collision with the glass or a fall chasing a ball. Only play on if you are not hurt. Safety comes first.
How to play it
From the floor, the safest reply is a high lob down the middle. Keep the racket in your hand and the cord round your wrist. Your partner should move to cover as much of the court as possible.
Common mistakes
Carrying on when you are hurt. Trying anything other than a high, safe ball.
