Scoop return
An open-faced lift under a low ball, scooping it up and over the net rather than hitting through it.
When to play it
When a ball dies low at your feet and cannot be driven. On a ball that comes off the glass very low.
How to play it
Bend your knees and get the racket under the ball. Open the face and lift smoothly, without a jab. Choose height: a scoop that lands deep is safe, one that sits short is not.
Common mistakes
Bending from the back instead of the knees. Lifting too gently, so the ball sits up near the net.

Is the scoop return legal in padel?
Legal under Rule 14 if the ball is struck in one movement and not carried twice. A double hit loses the point under Rule 13.
