Safe second serve
A second serve with more margin over the net and inside the lines, played after a first-serve fault so that you do not lose the point.
When to play it
After a first-serve fault. At important points when you cannot afford a double fault.
How to play it
Use more spin and less pace for control. Clear the net by more and aim well inside the box. Keep the same routine as the first serve.
Common mistakes
Hitting the second serve as hard as the first. Rolling it in so softly that it sits up for the receiver.

Questions
Is the safe second serve legal in padel?
Legal under Rule 6. Two faults in a row lose the point (Rule 13.1q), which is why the second serve trades pace for margin.
