Forehand off two walls

Returning a ball on your forehand after it has hit two of your walls, usually the back glass and then the side glass. The forehand is the easier side, because you can let the ball come out in front of you.

When to play it

When a deep ball into your forehand corner hits the back glass and then the side glass. When you are defending from the corner and need a safe way out.

How to play it

Stand well away from the corner and read which wall the ball will hit first. Turn side on and let the ball come out of the corner towards you. Lift it as a lob or a deep ball through the middle.

Common mistakes

Crowding the corner, so the ball jams you against the glass. Trying to attack from deep in the corner.

Legal under Rule 12: the ball may hit more than one of your walls after the bounce, as long as you return it before it bounces again.
