Fast and flat
A direct ball with little spin and more pace, flying low over the net to rush the opponents.
When to play it
On a high, comfortable ball when the opponents are slow to react. Through a gap, or at an opponent who is out of position. To finish a rally after a weak reply.
How to play it
Meet the ball in front of your body with a flat face. Swing through the ball in the direction of the target. Aim low over the net so it stays down.
Common mistakes
Hitting flat from below net height, which needs a lot of margin. Overusing pace against a pair who block well at the net. Hitting so hard the ball comes off the back glass high.

Is the fast and flat legal in padel?
Legal under Rule 14: pace makes no difference. Under Rule 13 the point is lost if it hits their wall or fence before the bounce.
