Fake lob
Shape up as if to lob, then play a lower ball such as a chiquita or a drive, or the other way round.
When to play it
When the net players start backing off as soon as you prepare to lob. When the net players crowd the net.
How to play it
Show the same preparation for both shots. Change the racket face and swing only at the last moment. Use it rarely so it stays a surprise.
Common mistakes
Making the preparation so different that it gives the game away. Using it every point.

Is the fake lob legal in padel?
Legal: the fake is only movement, and the shot is judged like any other under Rule 14. You must still strike the ball once, in one movement (Rules 13i and 14h).
