Deep volley
A volley sent long and low, close to the back glass, to keep the other pair pinned back while you hold the net.
When to play it
On most volleys when you are not in a position to finish. After winning the net, to keep it.
How to play it
Contact in front, slight slice. Aim to bounce a metre or two before their back glass. Keep it low so it does not come off the glass high.
Common mistakes
Hitting it so deep it rebounds off the glass high for them. Volleying short into the middle of the court.

Is the volea profunda legal in padel?
Legal under Rule 14.1a once the ball has crossed the net. You lose the point if you play it on your opponents' side before it crosses (Rule 13.1f) or touch the net or posts with your body or racket (Rule 13.1a). If it hits their back glass before it bounces, you lose the point (Rule 13.1g).
