Deep centre
A deep ball into the middle of the back of the opponents' court, between the two players, leaving them no angle and some doubt over who takes it.
When to play it
When you need a safe, neutral ball to stay in the rally. When the opponents are at the back and you want to keep them there. As a lob when you cannot see a clear corner.
How to play it
Aim down the centre and deep, near their back glass. Any stroke works: drive, lob or bandeja. Use the time it buys to move forward.
Common mistakes
Landing it short in the middle, which is easy to attack. Hitting too hard, so the ball comes off the back glass high.
