Cadete (behind the back)
A shot played behind your back instead of a backhand, used when the ball is too close to your body or has got slightly behind you.
When to play it
When a ball on your backhand side is too close to turn for a backhand. Mostly a show shot: a normal backhand is usually safer.
How to play it
Let the ball come level with or just behind your body. Swing the racket behind your back with a short, controlled movement. Aim high and safe over the net.
Common mistakes
Trying it when there is time for a normal stroke. Hitting hard, which sends the ball into your own glass or mesh.

Questions
Is the cadete legal in padel?
Legal under Rule 14: any stroke counts if you hit the ball once with the racket in your hand before its second bounce (Rules 13c, 13i and 13m), and it then goes over the net.
