Double wall that closes
The name for a ball that hits your back glass and then your side glass, so it comes out of the corner along the side wall towards you. It is harder to read than the side-then-back ball because it comes out close to the wall.
When to play it
When a deep ball hits the back glass first and then the side glass in your corner. When the opponents aim at your back corner to jam you.
How to play it
Step away from the corner early and give the ball room to come out. Turn side on and move with the ball as it leaves the side glass. Play a safe lob or a deep ball through the middle.
Common mistakes
Waiting in the corner, where the ball jams you against the wall. Hitting it before it has come off both walls.
