The net drops or a light goes out during a point
An unexpected interruption that has nothing to do with the players, such as the net cable slipping or a light failing, means the point is replayed. Stop and say so straight away.
A replay for the unexpected
The rules give a let for any interruption caused by something unexpected and unconnected to the players. A net that suddenly sags, a light that goes out or a door that swings open on its own are the obvious ones, and the whole point is played again. In a refereed match the umpire decides whether the let is justified.
Call it at once
As with any let, you must say so immediately. If you play on, you lose the right to the replay.
Fix it before you carry on
The net's tensioning must be built so that it cannot work loose by surprise, so a net that drops needs fixing before play resumes. If the lights fail for long, play may have to be suspended, and when it restarts it picks up with the same score and the same server.
