Sending the balls back to the server
Between points, send the balls back gently, never hard or at a player. Hitting the ball violently, out of the court or at the opponents when it is not in play counts as ball abuse.
Gently does it
Once the point is over, the ball is out of play. Hitting it hard in any direction, sending it out of the court or aiming it at the pair across the net is ball abuse.
Keep the game moving
There are only 20 seconds between points, so getting the balls to the server quickly helps everyone. A gentle bounce or roll to the server's side is the usual courtesy.
Penalties
In a competition, ball abuse follows the penalty scale: a warning, then a warning with the loss of a point, then disqualification.
Questions
Is hitting the ball away after a point a penalty in padel?
It can be. Hitting the ball violently, out of the court or at the opponents when it is not in play is ball abuse.
