What to agree before a friendly match
The FIP rules offer real choices: advantage, star point or golden point, sets to six or to four, and a tie-break or super tie-break in place of a third set. Settle them, and whether outside play is allowed, before the first serve.
Deuce
Advantage, star point and golden point are all official. Pick one. With the star point and the golden point, the receivers choose the side for the deciding point.
Sets and the decider
A set is normally first to six games with a lead of two, with a tie-break at six-all. The official alternatives are sets to four games, or a tie-break to seven or a super tie-break to ten in place of the third set. A third set with no tie-break is only played if it was agreed beforehand.
Outside play
You may only play outside the court where the court has the safety area and openings the rules require. Check the court and agree it before you start.
Serve and balls
The toss decides serve, receive or end. Agree as well whether you are playing with two or three balls.
Questions
Which scoring should we use for a friendly padel match?
