Who takes the ball down the middle
A ball down the middle can leave both players hesitating. A common agreement is that the player whose forehand is in the middle takes it, though many pairs also agree that the player the ball reaches first, or the one who played the last ball cross-court, takes it.
Schritt 1
A ball comes down the middle between the two of you.
Schritt 2
For two right-handers, the forehand in the middle belongs to the player on the left side. As agreed, that player takes it and volleys it deep.
Schritt 3
The partner shifts towards the middle to cover the space the first player has left.
