What happens after you report something
Our moderation team reviews each report and tells you the outcome. They can dismiss it, remove the content, warn the person or suspend their account, and you can appeal a decision about you.
Kurz gesagt
Every report goes to our moderation team, who look at what was reported, the reason and your details. The person is never told who reported them.
What the team can do
Depending on what happened, a moderator can:
- Dismiss the report if nothing breaks our community guidelines. Nothing is changed. - Remove the content: a message is deleted from the conversation, a review is hidden from the public page, a game is cancelled, a group is taken off the listings, a post, comment, moment or notice is taken down, or a club, place or coach listing is hidden. - Warn the person. They get a notice from the Rally & Roam team explaining that something they posted was reported and asking them to keep it friendly and respectful. Repeated reports can lead to suspension. - Suspend the account. A suspended person is signed out everywhere and cannot sign in again until we restore the account.
When content is removed or an account is suspended, any other open reports about the same thing are closed too. Moderators can also see how often someone has been reported before, and how many of those reports found a breach.
Will I hear back?
Yes. When the team decides, you get a notification: either we took action, or we checked and found no breach, so nothing was changed. To protect everyone's privacy, we do not say what action we took or share anything about the other person. If something new happens, report it again or open a ticket.
Where someone may be at risk
Our community guidelines explain that where the law requires it, or where someone may be at risk, we report to the police or other authorities. For concerns about a child or an adult at risk, see our safeguarding policy.
If something of yours was removed
We tell you in a notification and by email: what was removed and the reason. We never say who reported it. If you think we got it wrong:
1. Open the notification and choose Appeal this decision. 2. Under Why should we look again?, explain what happened. 3. Choose Send appeal.
You can appeal within 6 months, once for each decision. A different person from the one who made the decision looks at it, and we let you know the answer. If we reverse the decision, what we removed goes back where it was. A deleted message cannot come back. A warning has the same link to appeal.
If your account was suspended, the email explains how to write to us from the contact page, and a different person will look at it again. If you are still unhappy after an appeal, see our complaints process.
Protect yourself meanwhile
You do not have to wait for us. You can block the person straight away so they cannot message you or join your games.
