Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar store that stays on your device. This page lists every cookie and storage key Rally & Roam and its partners use, what each is for and how long it lasts, so you can make an informed choice.

Essential cookies are always on because the site cannot work without them. Everything else is off until you say yes in the cookie choices, and you can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings button on this page or at the foot of every page. Withdrawing consent stops the scripts at once and removes the Google Analytics cookies.

Your choices

Essential: signing in, security, remembering your cookie choice and your theme. Always on.
Analytics: Google Analytics and PostHog, which tell us which pages and features are used so we can improve them.
Travel partners and advertising: Travelpayouts Drive, which adds partner tracking to travel links so partners can pay us a commission, and Google advertising signals. It does not change the price you pay.

Our own cookieless page counts run without consent because they set nothing in your browser and cannot identify you. Our privacy policy explains them.

Essential cookies and storage

Name	Type	Purpose	How long
`rally-roam-session`	Cookie	Keeps you signed in and remembers your language and currency as you move between pages	Ends after 2 hours without activity
`XSRF-TOKEN`	Cookie	Protects forms against cross-site request forgery	Same as the session
`remember_web_` followed by a code	Cookie	Keeps you signed in on this device, only if you tick "Remember me"	Up to 400 days, or until you sign out
`rr-cookie-consent`	Cookie and local storage	Remembers your cookie choice (all, analytics, partners only or essential only)	1 year
`rr-theme`	Cookie	Remembers whether you chose the light, dark or system theme, so the page opens in it	1 year
`rr_ref`	Cookie	Set only when you follow a member's invitation link and have allowed partner cookies, so the member who invited you gets credit if you join on a later visit. Without that consent the invitation is remembered for your current visit only	30 days
`rr-pack-` followed by a country and city	Local storage	Remembers what you ticked on a city guide packing list, on this device only	Until you clear your browser storage
`rr-draft:` followed by a page name	Local storage	Keeps an unsaved copy of text being written in our editor, for staff, so work is not lost if the page closes	Until it is saved or discarded

Name	Set by	Purpose	How long
`_ga`	Google Analytics	Tells visits from the same browser apart	2 years
`_ga_` followed by our measurement code	Google Analytics	Keeps track of the current visit	2 years
`ph_` followed by our project key and `_posthog`	PostHog	Tells visits from the same browser apart and holds your account number if you are signed in. Stored as a cookie and in local storage	1 year
`__ph_opt_in_out_` followed by our project key	PostHog	Remembers that you withdrew consent, so PostHog stays off	1 year

Until you allow analytics, Google consent mode lets Google receive only basic signals without cookies or identifiers, such as that a page was viewed.

Name	Set by	Purpose	How long
Travelpayouts Drive cookies	Travelpayouts	Adds partner tracking to travel links on our pages and records that a booking came from us, so we can be paid a commission	Set by Travelpayouts; see their privacy policy
Google advertising signals	Google	Lets Google measure partner and advertising activity	Set by Google; see Google's privacy policy
