Kamplængder
Sæt til seks og fire partier, match- og supertiebreak, fordelssættet og kampe over ét sæt.
Six-game sets
The standard set in the FIP rules: the first pair to six games with a lead of two wins it, five-all goes on to seven-five, and at six-all a tie-break to seven points decides the set seven-six. Matches are the best of three sets.
Mini-sets to four games
A shorter set from the FIP rules: first to four games with a lead of two, and a tie-break at four-all. In Britain, LTA regional and county tournaments use these short sets, with a ten-point championship tie-break as the third set.
Match tie-break to seven
An FIP alternative to the third set: at one set all, a single tie-break to seven points, won by two, decides the match.
Super tie-break to ten
An FIP alternative to the third set and a common decider in amateur padel: at one set all, a tie-break to ten points, won by two, decides the match.
Advantage final set
If agreed before the match, the FIP rules let the third set be played with no tie-break, so it carries on until one pair leads by two games.
FAST4 padel
FAST4 is the name of a short tennis format: sets to four games, a tie-break at three-all, no advantage and a ten-point match tie-break. It is not in the FIP rules, and the LTA's own padel events use short sets with the tie-break at four-all instead.
Single-set matches
One set decides the match. It is not one of the FIP options, but the LTA sets one set as the minimum scoring for its Grade 5 Local Tour padel events, and many leagues and social events use it.
