Touching the net once the point is over

Touching the net only loses the point while the ball is in play. Once the point has been decided, for example by a second bounce or a ball leaving a court without outside play, you can run into the net without penalty.

When the ball is in play

The ball is in play from a good serve until a let is called or the point is decided. During that time, touching the net, a post, the cable or the other pair's court loses you the point, even if your shot was a winner.

When the point is decided

A ball that bounces twice, a ball that leaves the court after bouncing where outside play is not allowed, and a ball that sticks in the mesh after bouncing all decide the point there and then. Touching the net after that changes nothing.

The common trap

A volley close to the net that bounces in their court is not yet a winner. The ball is still in play while they could reach it, off the glass included. If your momentum carries you into the net before the point is over, you lose it.

أسئلة

Is it a fault to touch the net after the point in padel?

No. The rule only applies while the ball is in play.
