Rule 2: times
Be on court and ready within 10 minutes of the start time or lose by walkover. After a 3 minute warm-up, play is continuous, with up to 20 seconds between points, 90 seconds at changes of ends and 120 seconds between sets.
البند 1: Lateness and walkover
The tournament umpire will award the match as a walkover against players who are not on court and ready to play 10 minutes after the official start time.
البند 2: Force majeure exception
No walkover is given where the umpire considers the lateness a case of force majeure.
البند 3: The compulsory warm-up
There is a compulsory 3 minute warm-up rally between the players.
البند 4: Play is continuous
As a rule, play is continuous from the first serve to the end of the match. A match should never be stopped or delayed to let a player recover, or receive instructions or advice.
البند 5: Time between points
No more than 20 seconds are allowed between points.
البند 6: Time for changing ends
No more than 90 seconds are allowed for changing ends.
البند 7: No rest after the first game
After the first game of each set, and during a tie-break, play is continuous and players change ends without a rest. So the first change of ends in a set is a walk round the post, not a sit down.
البند 8: No food or drink between points
Players may not eat or drink between points.
البند 9: Rest between sets
A rest of no more than 120 seconds is allowed at the end of each set.
البند 10: When the clock runs
These rest times run from the moment one point ends until the next point starts with the serve.
البند 11: Broken clothing or kit
If a player's clothing, shoes or equipment has to be replaced because of something unforeseen, extra time within reason is allowed to sort it out.
البند 12: Toilet and clothing breaks
Before the match, the organisers may announce that a limited number of toilet breaks or changes of clothes are allowed.
البند 13: Changing ends in a tie-break
In a tie-break, 20 seconds are allowed for changing ends.
البند 14: Short suspension: no warm-up
If a match is suspended, for example because of rain, lack of light or an accident, and restarts after no more than 5 minutes, there is no warm-up.
البند 15: Medium suspension: 1 minute
After a suspension of 5 to 20 minutes, players are entitled to a 1 minute warm-up when play restarts.
البند 16: Long suspension: 3 minutes
After a suspension of more than 20 minutes, players are entitled to a 3 minute warm-up when play restarts.
البند 17: Restart where you stopped
After a suspension the match restarts exactly where it stopped: the same game and score, the same server, the same positions on court and the same order of serving and receiving.
البند 18: Stopping for lack of light
If play is suspended for lack of light, it should be stopped after an even number of games in the set, so that both pairs are on the same ends when play resumes as when it stopped.
البند 19: Treatment for injury
For an injury or a treatable medical condition, a player is allowed one 3 minute break for treatment.
البند 20: Treatment at later changes
That treatment may be repeated at the next two changes of ends, but only within the normal time allowed for them.
البند 21: Injury at a change of ends
If the injury happens during a change of ends, the player may have the same 3 minutes of treatment, and may repeat it at the next two changes of ends, within the normal time allowed.
البند 22: Once per condition
Medical attention is given only once to each player for each treatable condition, and a player cannot hand their medical time over to their partner.
البند 23: Accidents and sudden illness
If a player suffers an accident not caused directly by play, or faints, has an allergic reaction, feels dizzy or has a breathing crisis, the referee may choose to allow time for medical attention, never more than 15 minutes.
البند 24: Falls and being hit
If something unusual happens during play, such as a player falling by accident or being hit by the ball, and it stops them carrying on straight away, the umpire may allow a reasonable time to recover, never more than 5 minutes.
